Whether it be finding new video games, or stumbling across a new music artist by complete accident, I love finding new things in the wild. Queue, Shinray. Shinray is a metal band from France who has created a couple of absolutely superb video game cover songs. Their original material is okay, but their cover music videos and production appear to be their key strength. Alas, take a look at their amazing cover of the Crash Bandicoot 3 title screen. The video is fantastically produced, although their Final Fantasy VII Boss Battle video out does this one. Great clean studio sound and look like a bunch of fun guys to hang out with.

I highly recommend that you check out Shinray on YouTube and subscribe to them, they only have just over 3200 subscribers, but their sheer tenacity and production value warrants a much larger audience.

Know of any other good video game cover bands? Let me know, as I will be keen to hear them. I’ll be playing a sample of this song and plugging the band further on the Nine Lives Podcast this Sunday. Enjoy!
